Read more →Yes — a home battery can reduce your energy bills and carbon footprint. It lets you store cheaper off-peak electricity and use it at peak times, increases energy independence during outages, can charge your EV, and stores excess solar generation for later use.
An EV tariff offers cheaper electricity during off-peak hours to reduce the cost of charging an EV. The common two-rate tariff is cheaper at night and pricier during the day. You'll usually need to prove you own an EV and have a smart meter installed to qualify.
On an EV tariff, a DX Energy home battery can save you roughly £300 to £1,600 per year. The exact amount depends on your battery capacity, household usage and payment option. Try our Savings Calculator to see your estimate.
DX Energy batteries have an estimated lifespan of around 6,000 charge cycles. In typical daily use this is roughly 16 years, and can extend up to about 20 years since the battery is rarely fully cycled every single day.
Order confirmation → online site-survey questionnaire → site assessment (often remote) → installation → testing & commissioning → handover and training on how to operate and monitor the system.
From order to installation typically takes around 3–5 weeks, depending on your location and scheduling. The physical installation itself usually takes 1–2 days.
Home battery systems can be installed indoors or outdoors (IP65 rated), are built with overcharge protection, temperature monitoring and fire-resistant casing, and should be installed by qualified professionals with regular maintenance to ensure continued safe operation.
The DX 7kW AC Wallbox supports Plug & Play, RFID and App authentication, is OCPP compliant, includes an integrated 30mA Type A + 6mA DC RCD, and can be adjusted across 7/11/22 kW for future needs.
